Since learning of the potential for using bacteria as tools, I have been fascinated with fermentation. I see it as an ideal junction between my joy of engineering and my passion for food. This links to a live updated gallery which documents nearly all fermentation experiments I have performed throughout the years. I grew up in an extremely food oriented family, which led to me having absurdly high standards for what my standard fare should be. When I got to college and was unable to source quality food, I realized it would be in my best interests to be able to produce the type of food I prefer to consume. This live updated gallery contains my progression in culinary ability throughout the years, with not only the food I deemed satisfactory but with the food I considered failures as well. Several of the images have comments added to them explaining their content.
I have become accostomed to living near Acme, and miss quality artisianal bread when I am away. Unfortunately I cannot reliably produce bread of the desired standard.
